Welcome to CUPE 241

CUPE Local 241 members are outside municipal workers for the City of Guelph, representing over 400 full-time permanent and seasonal public service staff. We have been organized with the Canadian Union of Public Employees (CUPE) since 1963.

All of the stewards and executive board members of our Union are full-time workers too. We are committed to promoting a work environment that is respectful, inclusive, and free from harassment and discrimination.

Our Union is made up of workers standing together to secure the resources and support we need to do our jobs effectively and safely. We stand for fairness, equality, and dignity in the workplace. We believe in the power of collective bargaining and the strength of unity. We strive to secure the best possible working conditions for our members, and advocate for their rights and interests.

People depend on public services; services depend on people to deliver them.

CUPE 241 workers touch every part of life in Guelph: we fix roads, treat water, plow snow, collect garbage, maintain sports facilities, and much more. Ontarians are facing tough economic times, and that’s when we need affordable, reliable public services the most.
